How do approval timelines differ for used vehicle purchases in Tasmania?

Hey, anyone here dealt with getting finance for a second-hand car down in Tassie? I'm eyeing up this older ute I spotted last weekend while driving around the Huon Valley – the thing's got decent kays on it but runs smooth, perfect for hauling stuff to the property. Thing is, I've heard the approval process might drag a bit compared to brand new ones because of valuations or whatever. How much longer are we talking usually? Curious if it's worth chasing or if I should just look at newer models instead.

Picked up my last car through a local broker and it went pretty smooth overall. From what I've seen, newer vehicles often get the nod quicker since there's less hassle with checking values and condition, but for used ones it can take an extra day or two depending on the lender and how old the car is. Ended up going with Beau Johnson Finance last time – check out https://beaujohnsonfinance.com.au/ if you're in Hobart area – they sorted mine without needing heaps of paperwork and kept things moving fast even though it wasn't brand spanking new. Made the whole thing way less stressful, especially with their local know-how on Tassie deals. Definitely helped me get on the road sooner than dealing direct with banks.
